Trois Well. What’s been happening? Not sure I’m totally feeling the whole tumblr thang. There’s probably enough outlets for my pretentious blather without me needing another, though I do rather fancy somewhere to sketch mini-reviews, In the background, the new Kathleen Edwards album. Critical line seems to be that this is a glossy, shiny album primed for a tilt at the mainstream. Which is strange considering Justin Vernon’s involvement, a man hardly renowned for smoothing the corners for the mainstream. So far I haven’t really probed the depths of the record, so all I have is an impression of prettiness, though maybe something dark and ugly pulses beneath poised surface. We’ll wait and see.

Debut Because I’m not overloaded with enough things to drain my time and energy, I thought it might be useful to have one more. I’m considering revoloutionising the publishing industry. It’s time we had something that captured the spirit of its times -drew close to the word zeitgiest and pulled quickly away there - in the way publications like The Face, The End and NME did at various points in their history. That harmonious collision between a magazine whose time has come and a time worth writing about. Perhaps social networking services occupy the plinth at the moment - but I’m concerned about a space where words can actually flourish and thrive. Stay tuned and we’ll see what we can do. Read More
